About the Choir

Music has the power to connect — to focus, to lift, to create something larger than ourselves. At Evoke, that spirit is at the heart of everything we do.

We’re a young, vibrant London chamber choir directed by Victoria Ely, rehearsing on Wednesday evenings in Pimlico. Formed in 2016, we bring together singers from all walks of life — teachers, artists, consultants, ex-choral scholars — all united by a shared passion for making exceptional music to the highest standard, in an atmosphere that’s warm, supportive, and full of energy.

Unlike many choirs in London of a similar standard, we’re not a project or dep-list choir — we sing with the same group of committed people every week and in every concert, building lasting friendships and achieving real musical depth. Our repertoire blends well-loved choral works with pieces rarely performed in the UK, alongside jazz, pop, and music from across the globe.

Since our founding, Evoke has performed widely in London and abroad, including tours to Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Tarragona, and as prize-winners at the Polifonico Guido d’Arezzo International Choral Competition in Italy. Each year brings new adventures — concerts, tours, and creative projects that challenge us and connect us with audiences in fresh ways.

At our heart is a belief that the choral experience should be both artistically ambitious and genuinely enjoyable. Our vision is to bring a fresh perspective to choral music — gently challenging traditional stereotypes and exploring new performance spaces and formats. Evoke is proud of its reputation as one of London’s leading young choirs, both musically and socially.

With 2026 marking our 10th anniversary year, we’re looking forward to a season full of new music, bold collaborations, and performances in some truly unusual venues.

If you’re drawn to music that inspires and connects, we’d love you to share in it with us.
