Evoke’s repertoire is quit
e eclectic, from classics of the choral repertoire such as Tudor anthems and Romantic partsongs, to contemporary works from composers across the globe. Evoke aims to maintain a highly versatile musical style whilst building a core repertoire that is well-known by the choir and off-copy. Some good arrangements of pop, rock and jazz repertoire will also make an appearance.
Repertoire includes some classics (Byrd ‘Vigilate’, Rheinberger ‘Abendlied’ and Ireland ‘The Hills’), lesser-known gems from the continent (composers including Holmboe, Bardos and Mäntyjärvi) and some cracking big works (Martin ‘Mass for Double Choir’ and Howells ‘Take Him Earth for Cherishing’).
